Edge Evolution - My Experience
The Edge Just plugs right in. The directions are very clear and tell you exactly what to do. I do have Pics posted in my gallery of the EVO in my truck. I painted it the smae color as the interior trim and it looks good. Dont be scared of this thing its a good upgrade. For the guy who had trouble with it did you try to reload the stock program after you replaced the battery or did you just take it to the dealer and have them run a diag and replace your battery. Most times if you bring the truck in for service and they see the programmer they will automatically assume that the programmer is at fault. If you ctually get a tech that will take the time to change the battery and see if the truck runs and have the service writer call you to see if you could come down and help try to recover the program you may not have needed the PCM. I have gone throug this before I work as a tech for a GM dealer and I have had customers come and run me through the reprogramming process and I have never had a PCM get wiped out by an A/M tuner. There are a lot of fail safes built in. I am not saying that it cant happen but as a tech for well over 15 years its hard to belive that this was the sole cause of failure. Just my opinion tho...

When I saw that the display indicated level 0, I went back to the PERFORMACE option and the only options I had were levels 1, 2 or 3. There was no "Return to Stock" option at the bottom. When I treid to load any of these options It would display an error message that my program was not supported and I should update my unit, and default back to the prior screen. I had just installed the latest version 3 days before. Thanks for all of your comments. Again, I would like to reinterate; I primarily purcased my Edge to monitor the parameters of my engine, and having the options of reading and resetting any codes, so I do not miss any tuning options. I believe that the Edge is a great item for anyone. I wish they made them for all vehicles, I would have a unit in each of my cars. Manufactures do a poor job of providing this informtion to a driver, preferring to rely on idiot lights and small gauges with L or H as a reference. If I wanted a 95 mph, gear jerking, high performance vehicle, I probably would not have purchased a 5400+ lbs vehicle with a poor weight distribution, high center of gravity, and high coefficient of drag. I did enjoy the performance upgrade, but I really don't think it is worth damaging my powertrain. To each his own. I like my Ford Truck just like it is ... except for more gauges and a little vibration at 70 mph mind you...
