Ford first used the Ranger name on the 1958 Edsel. It was the cheapest model...following Pacer, Corsair and Citation. With the death of the Edsel in November 1959, the Ranger name disappeared till 1965, when it was re-introduced as an option on the F series trucks.
The 1965 F series Ranger option featured 1965 Falcon style bucket seats and center console, deluxe instrument cluster, padded dash, door pockets and upper door panels outlined with chrome mouldings and armrests.
Outside a special Ranger emblem was used on front fenders (replacing the Twin I Beam insert on the std emblem), along with full bodyside trim, chrome grille and bumpers. As far as I know, all the Rangers were stylesides...I've never seen a flareside Ranger to this day...tho some may have been made.
Courier name first used 1952-54....it was a panel truck on the passenger chassis...really just a tudor station wagon with blanked in windows.
Courier (Mazda) truck introduced in 1972...first part number prefix was D27Z.

it did when it was parked a year ago then sat and not it runs rough at lower rpms, but smoots out at higher rpms. rebuilt the carb changed plugs and wires, cap rotor... still runs the same. gonna check the timing when i get off work tonight.
Wonder if it had the spout connector back then. Ehh, probably not. The spout plug probably started with TFI 4 ignition. Come to think of it, you're probably used to working on points with this truck! Hope it works out for ya. Drove a decent hi-lo by Allis Chalmers of that year with a Nissan sohc 4 set up like that. Good engines both.
Type in ford.com/au----(thats Australia) and see what ford courier their driving. If thats not a ranger...and while your at it , check out all the ford cars down under. If they had those here, the would'nt be going broke.
