www.Austinev.org then there'll be a search box in right column. Type courier and enter. Then again, maybe try http://www.austinev.org/evalbum/812

Not exactly what I was mining for but that's what a really early one looked like. Never saw one so unlike the Ranger lines we all know.

I think it's kinda cool, different to say the least, I can't see me driving one, but someone else would look good in it ha ha.

The one Matt showed looked pretty nice IMO, well compared to that curvy bug-looking thing I found.

So...
Courier came first, not persay to fill the gap the Ranger did.
Then the B-series
Then the Ranger?

I believe the Ranger was a true new model for the US Ford production.

Ford first used the Ranger name on the 1958 Edsel. It was the cheapest model...following Pacer, Corsair and Citation. With the death of the Edsel in November 1959, the Ranger name disappeared till 1965, when it was re-introduced as an option on the F series trucks.

The 1965 F series Ranger option featured 1965 Falcon style bucket seats and center console, deluxe instrument cluster, padded dash, door pockets and upper door panels outlined with chrome mouldings and armrests.

Outside a special Ranger emblem was used on front fenders (replacing the Twin I Beam insert on the std emblem), along with full bodyside trim, chrome grille and bumpers. As far as I know, all the Rangers were stylesides...I've never seen a flareside Ranger to this day...tho some may have been made.

Courier name first used 1952-54....it was a panel truck on the passenger chassis...really just a tudor station wagon with blanked in windows.

Courier (Mazda) truck introduced in 1972...first part number prefix was D27Z.

I forgot to mention that the F series Ranger package was an add on to the Custom Cab option.

Wow! That paint looks great for a desert state '76. Kinda cool overall, too. Does it run smooth as it looks?

Wonder if it had the spout connector back then. Ehh, probably not. The spout plug probably started with TFI 4 ignition. Come to think of it, you're probably used to working on points with this truck! Hope it works out for ya. Drove a decent hi-lo by Allis Chalmers of that year with a Nissan sohc 4 set up like that. Good engines both.
