I have a 2001 Ford F-250 Diesel pickup truck. I went to a dealership today for a transmission flush and fluid change. The invoice states that they used XT-5-GM fluid. I believe that this is Mercon V fluid and my transmission requires Mercon. Is Mercon still available?
I took my truck to the stealership for a tranny flush after I first bought it. They showed on the invoice that they used 8 quarts. Well it should be more like 18 quarts. When I asked them about it they said, they only changed the fluid by dropping the pan. Well what about the rest of the fluid - I got less than 1/2 a tranny flush?
What the heck?
It turns out that the machine they use to suck the tranny fluid out was out of service. But they didn't bother to tell me - what a half-*** job. They were perfectly willing to let me walk away thinking everything was just fine.
