tests are in... why would the doctors wait untill new years eve to call with info we've been waiting for.
and the news is..... BAD. WAY TO START OFF A NEW YEAR, ME UPSET... wife crying.... looks like things are not starting off well.

for all concerned or curiouse...... i have been dealing with skin cancer of the face neck and back. after many surgeries and treatment and plastic surgeons for the face(trying to stay ugly as i am .. no uglier) now it is grown instead of gone. now they believe they missed some and its in the lymph nodes. and if that is not bad enough.. the treatments have desroyed my gall bladder and that will have to be removed too. oh well, my peeve is that i think the doctors could have let us enjoy new years the told us the news.
thanks for letting me vent.....

George,

I really don't know what to say, without trivializing your situation.
My prayers are with you, keep your head up and fight like hell.

Well,

That was not the way to enter your New Year but there is a point here, more reason to finish off that project and look good doing it...keep your head up and I will pray for you and your family...remember the only way to win is to fight!!!!!

Sincerly,
James

It's things like this that put a lump in my throat when trying to think of just the right things to say to someone "Who has been told".

Cancer is such a awful thing, but with the Luck of timing can make the world of difference.

I have seen so many people who have succumbed to this awful curse(including my Mother),I can only hope that you put all your strength & courage into overcoming this obsticle in your life now.

I will keep you in my thoughts in doing so.

Wrong order by the way

First it's you,then your wife,then your truck,then the house.

I don't think I can say it any better than Mil1ion did. I pray that the Lord will look out for you and your family in this time of life. I think I can speak for many here in saying you and your family have the support and strength of FTE when you need you need it.

You and your family will be in my prayers and thoughts.

George,
Doctors are mere mortals, and speaking from similar experience, most do NOT have a good bedside manner. Dropping that bomb on you on New Years Eve was unexcuseable and completely insensitive. Doctors get SO clinical, they forget that they're dealing with living, breathing, FEELING people.
You must be better than the "lowness" of what the doctors did. Rise above it, stand tall, and KNOCK THE CRAP OUTTA THAT AILEMENT. I believe that The Lord challenges us. He has presented you with a big challenge, and on the positive side, He has let you know right off the bat what this year's challenge will be.
The personal and spiritual strength necessary to get past this ailement will make you a stronger person in your heart, in your mind, and most importantly in the arms of Christ.

My prayers are for strength your power to endure even the most challenging of circumstances....

Daryl

Doctors are not perfect, nobody is. They can't read minds and be able to tell which people would rather enjoy the holidays and then hear the news and which people would be mad they waited to tell them when they knew the results a day or two earlier. Some people would have been very angry that the doctor waited to call them until after the holidays. Doctors have to give bad news every day so they get the results, suck it up, and make the phone call or the visit to the hospital room etc.
I'm sure the doctor wasn't intentionally trying to upset you. I'm sure that doesn't make it any easier to accept. My mom is in almost exactly your spot right now so I know it's important to try and keep a positive attitude and working relationship with the caregivers.
Not trying to side with the enemy, just some observations.
I'll add you to my prayers every day.

i relize doctors are people too. my beef with them is that i new i was sick, ive been sick for a while now( it is wearing on me) so a day could have gone by without a bomb like that being dropped. i was shaky with the news, my real concern was watching my wife absorb the news(heart braking). now she is scared that the house we just bought will be used by her and i wont be around to pay and enjoy it. i will do all in my power to be here for us and the house. just scared talk from her but the looks shes been giving i know she is really scared.
thanks too all my friends here at fte, i am lucky to have all the prayers. tomorrow will be a long day of testing so i may not make it back to the site tonight, but thank you all for the support. it truly does help and mean a lot to me. gwilkrrs

I forgot to add something G.

In addition to my above info,My Mother was told she had Bone Cancer with 2-6 months to live, " ON the day her 65th Birthday"

Needless to say That info burst every balloon in the house.

I feel you & your family's pain.
