Was out tearing down my 52 last night so I can get started on the resto, but ran into some issues in removing the door pins. Started with a small hammer and a punch, moved up to a 3lb hand sledge and a punch... and then tried some heat... Score so far, pins 1, me 0 . Does anyone know of any tricks to get these pins out without damaging anything? Any help would be appreciated
There is a special tool available from either Dennis Carpenter or Bob Drake, I can't remember which that makes this task easy. If I recall, it's about $30 and worth it. It is basically a heavy c-clamp and anvil ***'y that does not damage the door, hinge, or vehicle. PB blaster will also lessen the effort considerably. Let it soak for a few days before attempting removal. Hope this helps!
There was a thread that ended last April 26 on this same subject. It had several ideas. I'm listening because I will have the same issue soon. Good luck. Johann

I initiated the original thread, but have not got back to the Truck to try again to get the pins out. Springtime brings Fishing, Gardening, Lawnmowing and Wood Cutting to the top of the priorities list.
Keep us posted on your successes.
