I had to take the door off by taking the 3 screws out of the cab and use a torch to heat the pins and beat them out. PAIN IN THE A$$. They make a tool but it ain't much good on the pins that have been there for 60 years. I also had to drill one out. Use a smaller bit and drill down the middle then heat it up and beat it out. GOOD LUCK
I soaked mine with PB blaster for several days and got my dad's help. We took a big long punch and a pair of channel lock pliers. We held the punch with the pliers (so we could swing away and not lose a hand) and knocked the living hell out of it about 10 or 15 times. When it starts coming, it will be very very small changes at first and it will not "let go" until it clears that entire head and all those splines or grooves. You can heat em and get em out too.
Take the door (hinge) off if you can, as the pin has a slightly larger diameter at the top so the pins have to come out from the bottom (ask me how I know this).
Mega heat, big hammer, bent punches, broken hand, all good.
I have succesfully oiled and used a punch and hammer, but there is now a hinge pin extration tool avaiable , i got out of one of the catalogs, im not sure wich catalog, but it should be easy to find. it worked well for me. good luck (JIMMY)
I got mine out last week. i ground the bottom edge flush then drilled a hole in the centre to hold the punch. Then i heated them a couple of times and quenshed them with water between heatings then hit them with a bfh one came out easy thye other a little harder, but they are out now.
