The TRUCK C6 transmission from behind a 351M/400/460 is Bullet-proof.
Don't settle for anything less.
Truck tranny's are differnt from Car tranny's.
I concur about rebuilding.
The NSS also doubles as a Back up light switch .
I'm not sure about post 79 C6's and the NSS location.
But Best bang for the buck is getting yours rebuild.
IMO, Nothing worse than investing all that money and time and have a $75 tranny go belly up in 2 days.

well i dont know where yalll at or your confidence in your mechanical skills but the ole trusty c-6 is one of the easiest automatics to rebuild there is, plus a rebuild kit is 88 bucks from the transmission supply house a new stock convertor is another 145 at oreillys,

thanks for the help guys, I will check into the rebuild kit as well as still looking for a replacement C6 I think, thanks for breaking down what tranny's will work inplace of the correct year
