I've got a 95 F150, 5.0 stock. I was wondering about installing a higher flowing exhaust. Is there a way to acheive this without going louder than stock(maybe a little but not much)?
I hear longtube headers and new y-pipe is the way to go for more torque. What's after that? I would prefer single muffler/tail pipe.
maremont pn# M30001 on page 1384 of their 2005 catalog. Its a mandrel bent 3" tailpipe, autozone has them for $24.99. Do a search, I made a thread about it.
A walker or maremont muffler should do the trick, and a high flow cat. The cat will knock alot of noise out. Heck with a highflow cat you could get a cherry bomb 'turbo' style muffler, any kind of turbo muffler will do. They make a deeper quiet tone, compared to 'packs and chamered mufflers.
go to walker.com and check out their products. Walker is the same corp that man's dynomax. Maremont also makes similar mufflers. These type products are what the average joe gets put on their vehicles at a muffler shop in place of old rusty stock pieces. So yeah it will be quiet like stock, probably a bit deeper tho if you get the 3" tailpipe which IMO for the price of it, can not be beat.
