I brushed it on so It would go on thicker. I got a pack of those cheap foam brushes from Northern Tool and Supply for like 5 bucks. I only applied one coat as well, and a year later it still looks great
Also the encapsulator should be scuffed with a red scotch bright pad (or 400 dry sand paper) and then cleaned, to promote adhesion of the chassis black finish coat. I have had to re-do some of my chassis parts where the chassis black flaked off , wherever I did not scuff the primer first. ...
I do not know if the new encapsulator ( it was called Corroless back when I put it on mine 5 years ago) can be top coated wet on wet or not. If so, that technique would be the way to go, and a heck of a lot easier than scuffing all of the chassis suspension parts with pad or paper. good luck. jmo
