thoughts please -- should I stick with the rear view camera on my Expedition license plate or move it to the rear of the horse trailer?
Right now, I appreciate the aid when hooking up and haven't had to back the trailer in any really bad spots. On the other hand, could be some value in augmenting my side mirrors.
I originally ordered the wireless version of this system but due to a mixup the retailer shipped me the wired version. It uses a stereo minijack to connect the camera for both power and signal. I could mount a second camera at the rear of the trailer, snake the cable up to the a-frame, then connect the video link at the same time that I connect the trailer electricals.
All I would need to do is buy a second unit, an extender cable, and relocate the mini-jack and plug to where I can reach it for tow hookup.
I think that the wired unit might be discontinued, that is the only fly in the ointment.
it would be cheaper to just relocate the camera but to accomplish this I wouild need to sort out some quick disconnect mount. Current it is attached to the upper license plate mounting screws. Let me noodle on this a bit.
the unit I own is the VRBCS300 from vr-3.com -- anyone else own this and have worked out an elegant way of quickly relocating the camera between tow vehicle and trailer?
