Fuel injection

Looking for help. What type of EFI system did Ford use in the '96 Bronco with the 5.8. Is it a mass flow system or a speed density system?

Both. If it dosent have the maf sensor on air box then (according to ones I've played ) its speed density . From 94 to 96 it was a mix of Maf trucks and non maf trucks. Unless you live in California and NY . I've installed few Maf 's on 93 up trucks . But I dont know everything. Good luck

I am pretty sure all 96 Broncos had MAF 5.0 & 5.8. 95 had MAF in Calif and Speed density for other states. Not sure about the NY thing

Gary do you have a 96 or looking for one?

Neither. Wondering about the possibilities of using a '96 5.8 EFI system to control an E4OD transmission and MAF EFI on a '77 6.6ltr. engine.

You may be able to obtain spacers to get the EFI to work on the 400. You can also purchase an aftermarket computer to control the E4OD for you. I have heard/read that the aftermarket computer was better than the Ford computer for controlling the E4OD.

96 is mass air OBD-II. meaning there is a sensor for everything possible. probably not the best choice due to complexity, any mass air setup with an a9l or a9p ecu would work. on pre 96 maf that was eec-IV so you could control the tranny still.
there is a guy on another bronco site that efi'ed his 400. screams from what i hear
