Remember the 80's model Chevy trucks that had the gas tank under the cab/bed (or was it in the cab?) that would pop open when T-Boned and catch fire? Chevy had to fix this item free of charge.
This story is similar. If the factory wiring caused the fault, they'll fix it. If that truck has a brake controller or some other aftermarket setup installed in there, don't even bother. The heat damage can easily be attributed to any aftermarket items.
