Extended Warrenty

I just got back from the Ford Dealer with my new '03 Expedition I feel like I got a great deal,(X Plan)! Anyway...what are your collective thoughts on purchasing an extended warrenty? I'm sure you all know, I can purchase it up until my 3yr/36,000 warrenty is up. The cost if I purchase it now will be $1300.00. I have always purchased an extended warrenty in the past and thankfully? have never needed them. Any words of wisdom?

i am a firm believer in putting the $1000.00 plus for an extended warranty in the bank, by the time the manuf. warrnaty expires and you would need major repairs that money has grown enough to cover any repair cost. why let them make money with your money. every car/truck i had went 200k + without major repairs.

Extended Warrenty

For me my last car I had the extended warrenty that I purchased for $1200.00. It was a very good investment, because I had about $5000.00 in repairs done on it during the warrenty period.
It always seems the minute the factory warrenty ends that is when your truck seems to start having problems. So my advise is to buy it all try to roll it into the loan.
