You may have to add some weight over the back axel..... These truck light on the rear end...... When it rains and I have to stop on a steep hill, I have to put it in 4WD to get going.......

I dont know what type of BFG's you had on your truck, but I have the A/T ko's and I absolutely love them. Most rangers have an open rear end, so starting out when its wet is generally a problem. Not really anything a different brand of tires is going to fix. If thats your only concern, go with the t/a ko's, I got 50,000 out of mine (rotated every 3,000). EXCELLENT snow tire.

A few years ago I read a review and listened to another Ranger board on tires, both tended to agree.
My recalled tires, were replaced with Liberators (thumbs down)
My fathers has another choice, Wranglers, I believe. 50/50 IMHO
The ones I went with, are probably on your HD. Duehlers. Have NOT regretted it abit.

Which BFG's do you have, as there are several types? I would second the A/T ko's. Factory tire on my FX4 II and just turned 80,000 with them. Rotated every 5,000 to conteract the light tail end, although I do have a factory bedliner/hard cover which adds a few pounds.
I had a set of Duelers on a previous Ranger and did not care for them. Perhaps they have changed the tread compound since then.

BFG's rule on a 4x4, the best offroad tire you can get for the money, mine even grip on ice, destroy mud and laugh at rain, they stop on a dime and give you 9 cents back in change. I run BFG 265/75-16's at ko's. The ko's are the ones you want, thier the number 1 tire in dersert racing and most other offroad events as well, after having several sets on different vehicles, I can understand why, they just plain out rock !!!!!!!!!

thanks

Thanks for the response ! . I didn't think to look at what is on it before I came it . I have a leer fiberglass cap on it and about 50lbs of tools behind the cab. Its not the rear wheel slip that has concerned me its front end slide on curves when wet . snow isn't a issue here no hills 4 wd and drive within reason . I haven't liked it since I bought it but I was due for inspection last mt so I had the tires revolved and balanced front Aligned checked . Went thru state insp at state insp place where they put a guage on the tires and truck passed . however moving the tires around caused it to get completly uncontrolable now.I have owned mini pickups since 1986 nissans and a chevy so i know how they should handle . Also have made my living as a driver since 1975 drove all kinds of old crap trucks but never felt so insecure with handling (wife refuses to get in it after she slid into a ditch with it a block from home (in rain). I spoke to a coworker tonight seen him getting into same truck ,He had same problem and went to micheln tires and said it helped 100 % . They are a car type not a AT tire . I don't drive off road at all with the truck so this might be better for me. Don't I take a chance on a BF after these I must say they wear well as they still have 80% on after 30.000 mi .I'm going to buy something this weekend ! any other opinions will be apreaciated Temps are up so i'll be on the HD tomorrow .Thanks Again!
