Purge Flow Sensor circuit Input High

Hi all, I pulled a code p1445 (Purge Flow Sensor circuit Input High) from my 97 ranger. I can't see to find out much on this ( I don't know if I'm looking in all the wrong places....)
Anyone have any info on what a Purge Flow Sensor is and how do I fix it?

Note: sucks they disabled the search on these forums, I have a feeling its probally in here somewhere damed if I can find it...

well just in case anyone else has this code here is the best info I have been able to find.
From a post in news groups:
The code means: CHECK PF SENSOR HIGH VOLTAGE TO PCM
PF = EVAP Emission Purge Flow

Possible causes:

-- PF shorted to VPWR.
-- PF open circuit.
-- PWR GND open circuit.
-- Damaged purge flow (PF) sensor.
-- Damaged PCM.
"The PF sensor is a pretty high failure item on these cars. When
I worked in the Dealership, it was recommended (don't remember where, TSB, broadcast
bulletin, ?) that the purge flow sensor and purge valve be replaced together. They're
located on the left side of the engine compartment between the strut tower and battery."

At this pont I'm just debating if I should replace the purge valve too
If anyone else has anymore info on this I would appreciate it.

Sounds reasonable. The same kind of advice (replace the whole assembly) is also given for a P1443 code:

This is the never ending problem for me. So ok, I get all the info. I figure its just a matter of calling the local parts store( just hoping as some have mentioned that they don't have it and only a dealer will carry it) plopping this bad boy in and cel goes away. So I call ever part store in 200 km's, and every one says "whats that?" when I ask for a purge control valve (purge flow sensor). One guy said it dosen't exist if it isn't in his computer (I told him that he isn't in my computer therefore he must not exist.... slience..."look pal no need to get smart, there is no such part" I reply " do you know what specious reasoning is?..... silence..... profanity and dial tone. This conversation was the best part of my day)
Ok so now that I have google bombarded with 1445, purge controll valve, sensor and some parts counter dude is at home googling specious reasoning and neither one of us are ahead.
I call a ford dealer he has no idea and tells me it will cost thousands, that they have to hook it up to some computer to test everything I did hear him mention that it has to be hooked up to a smoke machine. Great my truck will be in a big hair band music video. They can use the CEL light for mood lighting, cause every time I start my rig and see that light my mood gets worse.
So I'm snapping at parts counter guys and I feel like this thread should be a Diary,
Dear Diray,
I insulted a parts jockey.... I feel shame. I feel confident that shame isn't in this guys computer either, I'm in the clear.
Love
Beothuck

So does anyone know of a part number for this? And to be honest I have no idea what I'm looking for since it obviously no listed as a purge flow valve in any computer.
These are the parts I found at an online parts dealer which sound like they might fit my needs?

PCV Valve
PCV Valve Elbow
Vapor Canister
Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid
Vapor Canister Purge Valve

Any help is greatly appreciated
