It would have to be a little circuit or a relay that would self reset once the back-up light circuit was off(the shifter was taken out of reverse).
You could do it with a relay from radio shack (#275-206), a switch and a little bit of wiring. If I have time later on today I make up a little drawing for it.
It would be fairly easy to do if your looking to temporarily kill a backup alarm. The hard part would be to find a switch that is "momentary" or sprin loaded so that it will pop right back when you let it go. Wiring it in would be fairly simple, just have it break the ground for the alarm when held. I would think that finding the switch is going to be the tough part. What are you using it to disable?
Here's a diagram I made. Tell if there is anything you don't understand. The beauty of this way of doing it, is you hit the switch after the alarm starts sounding, and it will silence it as long as you are in reverse. If you take it out of reverse, it automatically resets the circuit and the next time you enter reverse again, the alarm will sound again without having to remember to turn the switch back on.
