Mark, Where exactly on the engine are you getting your info from?

your water passages in the engine block or the heads could be clogged on the side that is getting too hot, were you having this problem before the water pump was replaced?

I have two sending units on each head giong up to two gauges WE rebuilt the motor and im thinking one of the head gaskets might be blocking one of the water jackets. there might have been a knockout on the gasket that I missed

Mark, I know I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but when I asked about where you were getting your info from, it was because I had never heard of taking water temps from the heads, and was thinking mine was taken from the intake.

I have listened to some real FE gearheads converse and know different chambers run different temps. I would be interested in knowing what the temp is from the intake where it is taken on most engines.

I know that the gasket can be put on backwards and does block the ports but think it causes greater harm than slightly elevated temps. Maybe some more impute is needed before you pull the head. IMHO
