When turn on the switch, headlights will not come on. Tail lights, amber lights, side markers all come on. Also when pull turn signal arm towards me, the headlights come on high beam but when let go of the turn signal arm, the headlights go back off. Any one can offer suggestions to repair.
Sounds like the low beam filaments are broken in both of your bulbs. Try replacing one of the bulbs. If your low beam comes on in the bulb that was replaced, then that's your problem.
It's probably your multi-function stalk. I had to replace mine. The problem will get worse to the point the headlights won't come on without jiggling the stalk.
My daughter-in-law's 97 Expedition has the same problem.
The switch is in the dash to the left of the steering colum.
Could the dimmer/turn signal lever still be the culpret?
Do any of you guys have a factory service manual for a 97 expi that could tell me where and what color wires I shoul check to troubleshoot this problem?
I have a $4 computer safe LED test light by Powercraft from Checker.(funny that the old type with bulbs that are not computer safe cost almost twice as much)
i had the same problem with mine, theres another switch in the steering column it could be dirty.try pulling the cover off and blowing it out with a can of air like the ones you use on computer keyboards.
