The recording industry makes enough money off the sale of a CD, they need to stop crying about it.
What? Have you a researched this? I disagree completely. If a person busts his *** to do anything then that man diserves every penny for his effort. Music industry aint easy.
At the risk of getting too far off topic, I meant what I posted.
I did not say the artist makes enough money off the price of a CD. I said the recording industry makes enough. Of course the artists should be paid for their efforts, but they aren't hurting for cash because I take a CD that I paid my money for and rip it to my MP3 player for my personal use. If the artists aren't making the kind of money they should from CD sales, they better take it up with the owners of those recording contracts they signed.
That's my take on the ever increasing intrusion of DRM. If the RIAA had their way, I'd have to buy one copy of the CD for home use on my computer, one for my car, AND purchase the digital files for use with my MP3 player. Stuff that.
