Other option would be to boot up into safe mode (F8 key during the boot up process and select Safe Mode). This may allow you to download and install an anti-virus software.
HTH and good luck

I don't know much about viruses but have you tried to go back to a prior "restore point"? Don't know if that will work but it's worth a try, I guess.
My computer was operating so poorly a few years ago that I just had to restore everything back to the beginning as it was when it came out of the box. Over-writing everything. I copied all of my important stuff, photos and such onto floppy, and put the Restore CD in the drive. Unfortunately, Norton's System Works that I had been using to "fix" my computer glitches had been deleting important stuff that my computer needs to operate without telling me what they were for or how vital they were. As a result I couldn't restore the computer at all and I was forced to buy a new computer.
If all else fails you may want to consider a full restore, if the virus "let's" you. My computer is doing funny things but my Ad-Ware and Norton's System Scan doesn't show any viruses. I can't figure it out.
I wish I could help you out. When you find a solution, please let us know. I'm scared to death of bugs and viruses. Sometimes I wish Angela Bennett was around.

Thank's for the info Ranger. I'm going to try that site to scan my computer. Maybe it will find a bug for me. Thank you.

Like Ranger said go and scan with Trend's free scanner then go and download Free AVG (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1) and download and install it.
I would then also install spybot search and destroy and adaware and run those.
After all that I would also install a software firewall like zonealarm or sygate.
You can get "Hijack This" from their "Secuity Help Tools" to scan your computer to post the log.

Use Firefox as your main browser
Have at least AVG anti-virus installed and updated (important to do this at least once a week)
Use some sort of spyware detector, ad-aware, spybot, Microsoft has a beta of one now as well
Be careful of what you open in emails, etc. Anything sent to you that you don't know, throw it away.
I'd watch out about Hijack This. If you are not computer savvy, could seriously foul the whole thing up.
If you are on XP, you have an "out" with a restore point option. My aunt had a situation much like yours, and I was able to get her clear over the phone by using restore point. Here is what you would do:
Think as to when the issue first started (important)
Start | Help and Support
Under Pick a Task choose Undo changes with System Restore
Restore my computer to an earlier time (next)
Select a date just before you remember this issue starting (next)
Next at the confirmation
Windows will power down, and if the issue wasn't there on that date, the system should be able to restore itself to working order.
Good luck to ya

I went to Trend Micro and did the scan. But I think I deleted some necessary files too. Now the virus is gone. But I think I've deleted some important window files. Now when I tried to open Microsoft Word, it say "device not found" .
Another message I got is "C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32*****" "DEVICE NOT FOUND".
Jesus...
Other alternative, search the internet for that file, download it, and drop it into c:\windows\system32.
