computer problem

Today i noticed on the drive i keep all my files and music on seems to be messed up now. I keep music and files on the D Drive. All my music file on my computer which are about 500 files have been turned into zip files and will not play on windows media player since there zip files.... How can i go about getting them back to normal without having to re download all of them.. I tried winzip but it says the files are corrupted. And today on mozilla i got a grey bar all the way across the bottom of my screen with nothing in it... I think i may be infected with something but i ran virus scan and it didnt pick up anything.

Have you done a virus scan lately? I have not seen anything like that unless it was from a virus..

Did you change the names maybe? You could try renaming the file ***.MP3 or whatever it was...

Edit: Just reread the post I guess you did a virus scan...

What virus product you using?

Does the filename actually end with .zip or are you just seeing the WinZip icon next to the file and Explorer is saying the file Type is a WinZip file? If the filename still ends with .mp3, right click on the file and choose Open With and select whatever you use to play mp3s. If that works and the box was checked that says Always Use This Program To Open, it should be ok.

Trend Micro's PC-cillin is really good, however, the online scan doesn't eradicate virus(es). (I don't think it does, anyway.) ??????????
(I have the full 'pay' version of PC-cillin on three pcs. ZERO virus problems!!!)

Download Avast or AVG antivirus on a DIFFERENT pc, then burn a CD of the anti-virus program to use/install on your 'affected/infected' pc.
Both programs are FREE!
I put AVG on my kids' pcs and on my wife's laptop. I/we have had ZERO virus problems! ZERO!

Also, download ZoneAlarm firewall. This too, is free.
Then download Ad-Aware anti-spyware. Yes, it is a freebie!
Then download SpyBot anti-spyware. Yes, another freebie!
