Electric fans

Im wanting to go electric fans, stupid belt fan throws mud all over the engine, and if I get into any water, I want to be able to shut them off so they dont tear up my radiator. Tonight at work I had to yank a starter off a Neon, so I grabbed the fans. Think these would work good? Cooling system on the bko is in good shape, new rad ect, but I wasnt sure if these fans would move enough air. What you guys think?

ehhh, it would work as a helper fan but prolly not great for a primary. go to the u-pull it yard in either connely or norcross and get a taurus/markVII fan. got mine for $10

How big are the taurus fans, they cant be much bigger than these 2, they look like they could move some air. I guesss Ill have to hook them up and see how well they pull.

o are they the dual setup that are offset?

something like that might work. i'd be scared though esp on a hot day.

just hot wire it to a battery and see what it'll pull

mine is 5" deep and 14 or 15" across

yea when it first powers on for a second it draws a heavy load, like 85-90 amps but after that in high mode she'll cruise at about 30-35amps

I second the Taurus fan. I bought one for my tranny cooler. They move insane air but make sure you get one from the bigger of the two Taurus engine options (don't remember the liter sizes). The smaller one won't cut it.

FWIW on my radiator I'm using a fan/shroud from a Volvo that pulls crazy air. You can find them on ebay around $40 but can get them from your wrecking yard if you check.

Don't under estimate the airflow you'll need. It takes a BIG electric fan to do the job your mechanical fan is doing. Also be sure you have a shroud that fits the radiator well.

I was thinking of just swaping them and holding onto all the parts. If I had issues when it startd to warm up, I could swap back or upgrade.
