better lighting offroad

Was thinking on my way home tonight, and was noticing that when the brights are on, the lowbeams are off. Anybody ever wire a diode inbetween the low and high beam circuit so the're both on at the same time? Ive got a set of "fog" lights in the grill, but I think having both beams on at the same time would be a big improvement. The're seal beams, so I dont think the extra heat would be an issue. Any thoughts on this?

It works great, I saw it on performance unlimited a couple years ago and tried it. At first I wired it up so both would be on when on high beams. Your lights life will be shortened a lot, they get pretty hot when they are on, even at highway speeds so I put a toggle switch under the lip of the dash so I can burn both filaments when I need them. But it does make a huge difference when they are both on.
