I want to order a restore kit for my Proguard 7 filter. There are two choices, blue or gold. Do any of you that run AFE know what the difference is and which one I should be ordering? I don't need right this minute as the filter was just installed new this past Monday but I don't want to wait until the last minute to get this.

Thanks in advance.
i just got the stage 2 last week..from what i understand green is proguard7 and blue is just a common filter,,for a not so dusty inviroment......
you must have the goldZ??? how do you like it/...i love mine but a couple others say they like the bue better i guess it flows a little more air.i was worried about salt dust up here in the north country so i went with the gold..
I just figured it all out. I was given the wrong filter. I thought I had the Proguard 7 (which is gold) but I have the standard filter (blue). It didn't occur to me that the blue goes with the blue and the gold goes with the Proguard 7. Doh!
Any way, on to the next question. Does anyone know where to order replacement filters? All of the sites I have looked offer the whole kit and not just the filter alone. If they do offer the filter they don't show a way to order it. I want to have a spare filter on a shelf so I can restore one and put the other in, swap them back and forth.

I got the same deal when I bought mine as well
I wanted the PROGUARD 7, but got the basic blue filter
I am going to buy the gold upgrade as soon as I can afford it!
since you've come this far, if you buy an extra filter it is so nice when you can take your time cleaning and oiling. Then you can oil it and wrap it up so she's ready for the next time.
I only have the stage one as it was all that there was back when I bought mine. But did spring the extra $%$$ for the pro gaurd filters. 5 yrs with a heavy foot, and intake pipe stayed clean. aFe's are pricey, but worth it to me.
I rarely use the pre filter since I have two filters. They are pretty restrictive but keep the filter clean longer. I just clean and change a little more often since I have the luxury of the extra one.
Congratulations, You are officially out of control of your wallet now!
I remember thinking I was insane spending the $$$ I did back then. Maybe so, but what's the value of a sh#t eating grin everytime I drive?
Afterall, its only money and you can always make more.
I'm lucky enough to live in a city loaded with candy stores for Diesels. I lived up in Golden for 9 yrs. before I moved down here to Littleton. I was 5 min from Five R and 10-15 min from ATS.
They'll both get more of my money in the future. I've got my eye on a '03 King Ranch CC SB 7.3L with only 18K mi. It's still brand new. A retired couple right across the street me has had it since new. Since he bought a $1.6 million motor home two years ago he never uses it. I'm trying to get him to part with the truck, the Lance Camper and a cherry 19FT Crestliner Nordic. I don't need any of it, but its one of those too good to pass on it kind of things. That's what I've been telling the wife anyways.
I've been working on this for over a year. I've promised him and his wife visitation and the keys to use 'em anytime they want. If I get her on my side, it's all downhill from there. Maybe today is the day.
That's right, it's only money. I work hard and I like to have nice stuff so to me it's not that big a deal. If I want something and I have the means, I get it.
Sure hope it works out for you in regards to the new truck. Sounds like a pretty sweet set up.
