Wireless Headphones?

I have a 2003 Excursion with the DVD entertainment system and have been hearing that there are wireless headphones that come with this system. Of course I bought my Excursion used so although I did get the remote, I did not get ANY headphones, not even wired ones. Does anyone know if this system did indeed come with wireless headphones??

I had asked this same question a month or so ago. I have the 2003 model also. Based on all the inputs I received, it seemed that the 2003 did not support the wireless headphones. The only way to really know is to get a pair and try to fire them up. I'l see if I can find my old post and get it bumped to the front.

I don't have the extra $$ for them right now, so happy bidding!

i have the same problem. i have a new set of oem phones but no xmitter it seems. the wired phones work fine, if you don't mind four 15 foot cords to get tangled. if i can find just the xmitter, i'll add it myself. if i can find an 02, 04, or 05 monitor, and it's not too $$, i'll swap it out. i am desperate, i know someone else has to have solved this problem without screwing a xmitter to the headliner, and buying more new phones. please help us poor 03 owners, somebody!!!

Here's another set of wireless phones that just hit e-bay tonight. They say they were never used.

the phones are not the problem, it is the lack of a transmitter being included from the factory. ford skipped the 03 model year when it came to the IR transmitter. i have a brand new set of unused 05 phones. what i hope to find is the part number, or tech spec for the OEM IR transmitter that ford uses. according to the dealer, the parts manual directs everyone to a local AV store/provider. thanks for the input for us audio-challenged 03 owners. we need a clean install solution.

Did Ford include the IR transmitter for 2002 Excursions? I have used the hard wired headphones but want to go to wireless. I also have a set of Ford OEM wireless headphones, but not sure what else I need to make them operational??

yes, the 02's had IR with the factory vcr rear entertainment. the phones you get on ebay will work with any factory dvd/vcr ent package. EXCEPT THE 03's!!!

I have an '02 with the DVD. Is this the same as '03 without IR? or does it have the IR?
