I posted previously about possible water in my fuel.
I went to the mechanic today and had the engine code checked. It came up with two codes relating to the IDM and the PCM. Basically the PCM is not getting a signal from the IDM, at least intermittently.
Anybody have any luck with reseating the connectors on these? Or is a PCM or IDM module purchase in my future?
Also found out the water pump is bad, which is causing the pulleys to eat my belt. Does anyody know a good source to save money on a water pump? I want new, not rebuilt, and the best price I have so far is $209 and that is the cost for the garage where I went.
Hey.. your symptoms sound a lot like mine. My wife was driving the other day and the truck began rattling as if the tire was flat. Then today it has been stallng as if it is not getting any gas and cut out on her a few times in traffic.
It has 94K on it... so i'm not sure what to check.
That does sound like the same symptom. If you can find someone to scan your computer for codes, it may show up even if you do not have a Check Engine Light. I am looking for an IDM right now. I'll update the thread with the results once I swap it out.
BTW, it isn't quite as easy as some say to test it by "swapping your module with somebody else". I started to take the fender well out, which led to removing the flares which could not be removed without completely removing the running board! The last screw is tucked under the flares, best I can tell... So I decided to put it back together until I had a part in hand and then spend a day dismantling my truck. Why couldn't they have put that module in the cab, or at least in some empty space under the hood??
