If you feel it was me being an a$$ you way off base. I am only trying to save you hundreds of dollars that you will be spending if your force your engine over.
Sorry if I have wasted your time. If you fell that way, then go back to your buddy from work, do it his/your way, then replace some major components when you have even less time.
I commend you for your heavy work load, seriously, I do. I honestly feel your creating more work then what is required though.
Sorry if I ruffled your feathers, have a better night...
Sorry Joe, I have been having a hard time lately. I know you are trying to help and I did this morning exactly what you said. It turns out the water got in the air intake. I pulled the plugs, sprayed a little WD inside, and waited for penetration. After a few cranks, it turned over with no banging or odd noises atributed to something bent or broke. Water came shooting out for quiet a while. I am now in the process of changing fluids, pugs, wires, filters, ect. Once again thanks to everyone for your help on my problem, and I sincerely apologize Joe for the blow up.
Accepted, I could tell you were frustrated. I was pretty sure this was your only problem, I was more concerned you were going to create more of an issue by trying to force it over...
Ok, I changed the plugs, plug wires, air filter, oil, and also the oil filter. When I changed the oil a little water came out when I pulled the plug. After all this I finally got the thing to start with a lille patience. Water was coming out of the muffler and the exhaust along with alot of smoke. I let it run for a while and it is sputtering pretty good. It sounds as if I have a ticking sound coming from the engine. Now, I spoke with the insurance adjuster about this after I got it running. He said that it could be the lifters because of the length of time it sat idle or water under the valve cover. I also have some water back in the oil when I checked the dipstick. His advise was to get it on the road and run it about thirty miles and see if the sputtering and backfire significantly decreases. Then he said to come back. let it set and change the oil and filter again. Does anybody have any other advise or input? Thanks in advance.

The water you are seeing in the oil is one of two things. Residual water that was in the engine as a result of the puddle, or, the cooling water (Anti freeze) as a result of a cracked head or head gasket. That is really your only two options.
The ticking could be a collapsed lifter, if so, it will more than likely come back to life once you get the oil pump cranking pretty good on the drive down the road.
