my question is i notice that there is moisture in my clearnece lights...i bought the clear roof light lenses and now notice a bit of moisture around the back end by the screw...i know if i put silicone aroud the screw and then put it in and also around the back end this will fix my problem but my dad has already replaced 2 of his bulbs on his 04 350 and i dont feel like dealing with the cured silicone down the road
Mine always seem to have just a bit of condensation in them whenever I look at them. I don't think it's enough to get past the gaskets or harm anything, though, and I don't think there's a way to prevent it from getting in their in the first place, just by the way the lenses fit to the roof (little catch in front, one screw in back).
probably taking some of that small foam that comes in a roll for around windows, you can get it very thin and narrow, maybe putting that around the bottom where it seals, and you won't even notice it. my 97 is 10 years old, 125k miles and never ever was their a drop of condensation in my clearance lights. it's pathetic that the new fords like my 2006, have it in there.
how simple is it to make them not leak? on a 40k+ truck
