Deciphering Ford Part Number Prefixes
I know this ain't a diesel question, but curiosity got the best of me. I found info on how to decipher Ford P/N prefixes like F0TZ-xxxx but what haven't found is info on prefixes like 1,2,3,4 or 5C3Z or an XC or XU. Does anyboy have a link of info on what the prefix means? Thanks Nodak

from what my ford parts guy to me the f0tx is a ford (F)part for a year 2000 (0)vehicle then i can't remember what the other two are for but i am guessing its like truck, car, model info. There is some ryme or reason to it but i can't remember what he said.
