Post Headers

Carbuff56

I am getting ready to install an FE engine with a C-6 transmission in my '53 F-100 and was wondering what tube headers fit the best. I plan on maintaining the stock suspension and steering for a while. I have the engine and transmission cross member from Classic Performance Products and I was concerned about what headers fit and perform the best.
Right now the lack of $ will keep me from buying ceramic coated headers. My primary concern is getting this truck on the street.
I will be running heads with the 8 bolt pattern for the manifold.
Thanks

Headers

A couple of different manufacturers carry headers that "stay close to the block". I am brain-farting right now what they're called, but I came acrss them when I had to determine what style header my 302/C4 set-up in my '59 F-10 would accommodate, especially with added PS box.
Try Doug Thorley and/or Hooker Headers.

Good luck...

Are block hugger headers necessary for fit, or do they perform better?

With stock steering block huggers are a must. I would wait to buy your headers until you have the engine in. You will see the troubles then.
