I am currently at the point where i need to find some headers for my 56. Will any headers fit in the bay or will i need block huggers, for my engine i need to have 1 7/8 headers to a 3in collector. I also have the inner fenders from a y block 56 and one from a straight 6 are they both the same, or do they have different dimensions?
Sanderson is the place to get them... I have a 429 and they fit great. Put them in a 52.
Hey Dennis, old pal, old friend, old buddy. (Oh, oh, he wants something!) I’m doing a 460 in a 51 f1, do you have M II front suspension and if so how much steering shaft clearance did you have, a straight line shot? Thanks much.
Disclosure: I am fully aware that I have an incurable mental condition known as “getaheadofyourselfitis”.
Do you mean by regular "headers" the cast iron exhaust manifolds that most engines have from the factory? Your use of the word headers instead of exhaust manifolds might be causing some confusion; headers are usually aftermarket and made of tubes whereas the oem manifolds are cast iron. You should have room for the exhaust manifolds since the engine bay is good size but someone who has used the manifolds might be along to verify this.
