Summit is just about as cheap as I have found, but there are several site vendors that would probably be close in price. When I ordered mine I was in a location with no interenet, or else I would have went that direction. I like my auto-meter gauges but was having a few problems with my pyro(my fault) but I couldn't get ANY customer assistance at all.
So ill probly get a set of autometers, anyone know a good place to get them? Thanks for the replys.
if you are going to buy the autometer. then do a search because they sell the a-pillar with the gauges which are ultra lite 2's for a little bit cheaper than buying them separately. but look to spend around $400 for everything and a weekend to install
i just bought mine from dieselmanor.com. great service good price. Call them if you dont see the guages you want, thats what I did. I got the cobalt series.
I am thinking about selling my trans temp since I STILL dont have it hooked up and I got these back in February
I might go with Oil Pressure instead or Volts.
you should reconsider. it is very easy to connect. there is a bolt right above the oil pan on the drivers side of the trans they call it a test port all you have to do is remove that bolt and install the sending unit and your done. to me it was the easiest guage to install. im assuming your truck is like mines of course

I would and have tried, but I have the ZF6. There is no plug that even the biggest adapter from Autometer would fit in. Plus I would want the sending unit submerged to get an accurate reading. Only place to do that would be on a plate, but would have to weld the adapter for the sending unit onto that plate.
Plus I was told that there is no need for a tranny temp gauge with a manual.
So us guys with a manual...what would you suggest as the third (or more) guage instead of a tranny temp?
I also have a manual trans...leaning towards a two-pod (pyro/boost) set up.
Can someone tell me if the Instrument Cluster Bezels (2-gauge instrument panel pod) works with 04 and newer trucks. I like the design, but they seem to be labled for up to 03 only. Looking at the pictures, It appears as though it would overlay my temp idiot gauge and gas gauge. I really like the design and think it would look great with the green, back-lit DiPricol Optix Gauges.
Here's a link to one example: http://www.prostreetonline.com/buy/p...luster_bezels/
oil pressure is always good to have. if you dont have pressure ur not going to be running and the stock idiot light just tells you if it normal or none
So I got a set of guages (autometer) pyro, trans and boost. Could someone tell me exactly how the trans temp hooks up, theres three prongs on the back, witch ones go to what? I dont think they sent me the right directions, and im no expert electrician.
Ok, Its been almost a year so I will try to remember.....
There should be 5 prongs on the back. As you are looking at the back....
Top two are:
1) Ground
2) 12V (lighting power)
Bottom three:
1) Ground on top (horizontal blade)
2) Left (S) is Sender from Tranny
3) Right (I) Ignition (switched) power source...you can get this from the same power you tapped off of to turn your pyro gauge on.
So you will need 2 seperate grounds, one hot from dimmer (lighting), one hot (switched) from ignition, and one communication from sender.
Hope this helps out
I guess I should ask what series you ended up getting but if you got the short sweep electric then this explanation should work.
