Ok, Ive decided I better get a set of A-pillar gauges for my truck so I can actually see what my powertrain is doing. Ive seen some that actually have a temp gauge for the rearend? but not sure if that is really necessary since I dont tow all that often, and im not in a very hot climate. Theres alot out there, what do you guys suggest?
also, I recently saw a 6.0 with a digital fuel pressure reading inside the cab? Is that guy crazy, or is that something worth looking into. First time ive seen that.
Some of the tuner displays can show several different engine parameters. Unless you are running a heavily modified truck, more than just a basic tuner and exhaust, fuel pressure reading are of little to know use to you. That is unless you just like a lot of information to track for your own knowledge.
The most important gauges are the ones i listed. Even with a stock truck. When any of these parametes change quickly from the norm it will alert you to problems developing and you can immediately take corrective action.
If your going to spend the money for four gauges, unless you just like the look of analog gauges(which I can understand), I would go for a solid digital gauge. You'll actually be able to monitor those 4 parameters as well as others and you can even have a gauge that adjusts speedo for an aftermarket tire size, if your inclined to do that. If your running a tuner, most digital ones will work for other brands then just their own. The monitor might support functions that the tuner can't do, but most of them will perform what your tuner is able to do. Most tuners allow for egt backdown at certain temps and same thing for tranny temps as well, but you can't do that with regular analog gauges. It's preferance, but if your planning on doing 3-4 gauges, then I would think about looking at digital ones, for the reasons I stated about the backdown safety features and to me, digital ones are more accurate, you know that your egt is 1227 degrees, instead of an analog one where your guessing where your at.
I just installed a quad A pillar, in my 2006 F350 with autometer gauges and so far, I like them a lot. I installed egt, trans, boost and water temp. I am looking for lamp sleeves so I can change the white light, when the dash lights are on, to green to match the dash illuminated light. Hopefully, this helps. My .02 cents.
As to the fuel pressure guage, the diesel tech at the dealership I go to says that fuel pressure is good to have because a drop in fuel pressure indicates that your fuel filter is getting clogged, and low fuel pressure can damage your injectors.

I have a FASS 150/150 Fuel Filter and pump on mine to help the stock pump keep up with the mods. I have a fuel pressure gauge attached to it so that I know when to replace the filter in it.
I have the Isspro pillar gauges on mine...EGT, Turbo boost, Trans temp...however, I am thinking I may switch out the Turbo boost gauge for a Water temp gauge, as I feel it may be more important to monitor water temp, only because the Turbo boost gauge matches my factory Turbo psi gauge exactly, so why have it?!
