ok a buddy of mine has a 06 f350 crew cab dual rear wheel king ranch PSD...any ways he seems to like to power brake it....what are the negatives to this besides having to replace the rear pads and rotors?
Transmission failure, axle & rearend failure to name a couple expensive ones.

That about sums it up. If that torque being produced by the engine isn't going to rotating the wheels, its got to go somewhere. Let us know what the weak link turns out to be.
How about simply looking like a jackass? Tickets from your friendly neighborhood constabulary for exhibition of acceleration? If you end up wrecking out and killing someone, a witness says you were drag racing/showing off and bingo, you get charged with vehicular assault/vehicular homicide? Tires, brakes, rear diff, transmission, driveshaft, etc.?
Come on, All the cool kids do it......no one has to even know. Come on do it, do it, Do IT, Do It, DO IT, DO IT!!!!!!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HH!

Just so you'll know, I only do this at the drag strip to heat them up before a run or at a burnout event where things are monitored and secured. I don't go doing burnouts all over the place.
I'll hold the brake to let the turbo spool up and release it at around 1500 rpm, and man do I love smokin' those uppity yuppies around where I live! WOO Doggie! My goal is to stall a beemer with my smoke one day HAHAHA
