Hello,
I have a 2000 F 250 and have noticed now that it is starting to get cold that the fast idle is not working anymore. I have a straight pipe on the truck so I can hear it really well when the back pressure valve is closed. Any ideas? It was 35 here this morning and it would normally be low enough to make it idle high. Thanks
34 or 35 degree's is where mine usally kicks in so let it get a degree or two colder before you start to worry. I hope to never hear mine kick in again. It only took me 15 years but I have finally landed in Florida.
Yamahahauler does your parking brake indicator light work? Mine won't come on unless the brake is set and transmission in neutral (six speed manual shift 4x4, no blinkin' ESOF). I would imagine that if you have an automatic that it would require the truck to be in park as well.
Thank you, I am still only about a third of the way down and hope to finally settle in Naples. I have to continue to work probably til I drop dead on the job. I do spectacular decks and stairs so if anyone in the Sunbelt needs anything like that please contact me. I will drive nearly anywhere.
Mark get a picture of a business card and put it in your gallery. There are several multi million dollar developments going up on "Lake Martin" in the next few years I'll spread your name around.
I would think that 35* is plenty cold enough to activate the warm up cycle. Mine will go into high idle even around 45* sometimes for just a few minutes.
My parking brake light works some of the time but lately less more than more. Maybe the switch is faulty. I will check it out and thanks very much for your help.
