I never tried one. No one that I could find had any exerience with it, so I passed. But it looks nice. I also considered Autopage. The local authorized dealer for Autopage and DEI said to get the DEI. They insist it has less failures after install, where autopage installs had several reliability problems down the line. Too bad. I really like the temperature indicator, think it had 'start at selected low temp' feature too.

thanks so much for your replies. Good point about the bad pic on the camera. I was also wondering if there was a way to download the pic even if you did get one on the remote, what would you do with it? Seemed like a good idea. I'll look into your other suggestions too. =)

stupid question. to have the keyless entry viper system discussed here installed... does your truck need to have the Ford Keyless system with key fob?
I have a 2006 XLT, all power, but did not get the security package with the keyless entry and key fob. Would the viper or any other system allow me to unlock the truck without the key???

With the viper you won't use the factory remote anymore. Think that's true of most or all of them.

and yes if I wan't clear, unlocking/locking will be controlled by the alarm. Read the owner's and install guides if you want to see all the feature you get.

Like Netfly said, the Viper will work just fine with only power doorlocks and no RKE. In fact even if your vehicle didn't come with power doorlocks, a professional shop could just simply add doorlock actuators to be able lock/unlock the doors with the remote.

While I'm praising the Viper with the 2-way remote, let me also tell you what I don't like about it. The price of a replacement remote is ridiculous!
