tire size question
Does anyone know why the F-250 and F-350 SRW trucks came with different size tires? My F-250 came with 235/85-16, and my F-350 came with 265/75-16, which from my research are the same diameter, and have the same weight rating. Is there any reason other than cost to do this?

It's all a matter of who placed the order. The dealer can order anywhere from a 235 to a 265 depending on how they want it priced. Granted there isn't a huge price diff between the two, but if they worked that way in different areas, they could bring the price down a bit to compete easier.

They do not have the same ratings. Ford uses a E rated 265x75R16 which is rated at 3415 pounds at 80 psi. The 235x85R16 is rated at 3042 pounds at 80 psi. The 265 size is standard on the F350 but optional on the F250. That is one of the main differences between the older model F250/F350. Put the 265's on your F250 and magicly you'll have an unoffical F350...
