Wheel interchange ?'s
Wheel interchange ?'s
Well.. i came across this '46 3/4 or 1 ton stakebed truck in the wrecking yard that is in pretty good condition. This truck has the 17" split rim wheels. So im guessing they are a 6.5 bolt pattern? if so, is that the same as the larger 2 ton truck? Like these.
Im only asking this because i came across wheels like this at a nearby farm from a late 30's? ford truck. Plus i think it look s a lot better in my opinion than the 17's.
And the springs would also need to be rearched, right? Inorder to fit the larger tires. Thanks for any info.

No, not the same as the 2 ton trucks. The 2 ton truck used a 20" wheel, versus the 17" inch used on the 1 ton. The bolt pattern might be the same i believe, the 1 tons using a 5 on 6.5 inch pattern, I don't have a 2 ton, so I can't say for sure. The fenders where the same on the 1 ton and 2 tons trucks, so fitting them inside the fender is not an issue. As for the arching of the spring, you would either A) take measurements and compare the 1 ton and the 2 tons springs or B) just try putting a wheel from the big truck on and see how it fits.
