I have a 2000 Ford Excursion. Its the 6.0 V10. (Gas)
When ever its cold out side, it just wont stay running unless I'm on the gas. If I'm backing down the driveway, it dies. If I'm cruising at 20 MPH and let off the gas, it dies. It has ~90k miles on it. When its above about 60 degrees F, it runs with no problem.
I had the same problem. you can replace the IAC or just clean it. It likes to get stuck. It sits behind the throttle body. there are some instruction in the V10 forum. I removed my and removed all the deposits and have not had a problem since. Probably should have replaced it, and will next time.
I replaced this on my 01 and posted instructions for another guy. Search my posts. Its in an ackward place to work. Not hard to do just hard to get to it. JOHN
