97 f-150 locking up

97 f-150 locking up

got a huge problme i can;t figure getting a huge clucnk from either my tranny or rear end and when i stick m vehicle into reverse it will rool for a second then lock up and wont move till i give it alot of gas and has same symptoms when in neurtal and i try to puch my truck backwards but when i have the rear end in the air the back tires go in reverse fine

Have you checked the back brakes? I had some of the same symptoms and one of the springs fell down inside the drum and would make the brakes lock up in reverse or rolling backwards.
