if you were to use the 3000gt turbos you would need atleast 4 of them to make much of a difference other than your temp with the v10

before I spent too much time chasing my tail with a bumper mount turbo, I'd look into the Rotrex superchargers. It's the world's only planetary gear driven supercharger. It's been developed in Europe so right now the sizes aren't sufficient to boost 415 cubic inches of Ford V10. Although, a pair of them like Rotrex has for the 5.3 GM Vortec could be sweet. Basically the Rotrex is a belt driven s/c that performs like a turbo. I've seen a kit go on a 4.6 Mustang. If you look at the V10 like 2 3.4 liter inline 5 cylinders like the Europeans have with some head scratching and designing I'm sure this would work.

Aren't they really just centrifugal superchargers with a slightly different drive?

If you are gonna fab up the install yourself, IMHO you can get a centrifugal that is large enough for a V10 from ATI/Procharger, Paxton, etc.

Problem being centrifugal blowers don't make torque down low... they require high rpms to make big power. A roots/twin screw blower makes the tq low in the RPM range, and a properly sized turbo can do the same.

Right- roots/twin screw blower don't have to spool, thats what kills the low end torque...

That's true, so you need to get the right blower for your application.

For my 5.4, I've got good low-end torque...that's all these engines make, as they run out of steam rather quickly.

Before the Procharger, I always had traction issues on slick boat ramps...and I still still do!

But, pulling a 7,000lb. boat/trailer, I used to have zero highway passing power.
With the Procharger, I've got plenty of power to pass, even going up grades.

Thankfully, there are choices out there.

But a properly sized turbo(s) can give you the best of all worlds, since boost is load-dependent, not rpm-dependent...properly sized is the key.
