Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding a 1998 f150 2 wheel drive I recently purchased.
The speedometer only goes up too 37 miles per hour, however the odometer works correctly. Any suggestions for me to look at would be appreciated.
I should say that the odometer appears to work correctly as far as the revolutions are concerned. and the trip meter as far as milage at fill up. It has a 4.6 gets around 11 miles to the gallon.
Unless you're REALLY flogging and idling the crap out of your truck, I'd say that the odometer isn't working either. I just logged 18.7 mpg out of my 4.6L/auto. I hadn't been driving for economy either. I don't know if the F150 gets its speedometer signal from the rear ABS sensor like my Dodge Ram did, but I'd be checking it out as well.
