Would this work.

For those of you who would like to pitch in your opinions I'd appreciate it.
I have a 2001 F-150 extended cab and I was thinking of adding an amp and sub.

I have:
JVC-KDS890 deck
4 Pioneer TS-A6860R speakers

I was going to add:
Audiobahn AWC10T Subwoofer
Audiobahn A8005DN Amplifier
and a box from SuperCrewSound

Would that be a decent system?
And would I need to run an amp to the speakers too?

Good shopping there. That subwoofer is pretty small in depth which will be ideal for the enclosure to go under your seat. With the dual voice coils it will get your amp moving it.

You will be fine running the radio on your speakers but I would recommend a sub volume control which your radio is not equipped with. So there are two ways to go about it.

1. Get the AudioBahn ABR100T Remote bass boost control **** that is sold seperately to turn the subwoofer volume up and down. Plugs directly into the amplifier and you mount it to your dash. Runs ya about $20.00 or so.

2. Step into a radio that is equipped with a sub out control. If you like the JVC name an open entry model number starts with the KD-G120 that features a selectable rear/subwoofer RCA output. From there the features build with the higher model numbers. Crutchfield is hitting ya at $79.99 with a price break on the KD-G120 right now. This gives your subwoofer control from the radio instead of mounting a **** under the dash.

Hey KC, I hope you see this.

Thanks for your input I was hoping you would respond. Why is your PM disabled?

When the sub is installed, (don't know how to phrase this) does the bass going to the speakers get turned down... and then the sub takes its place?

Also do you have any business in the Chicagoland area? I saw an detail shop that was called KC Auto Detail.

For your bass issue a couple ways for it.

1. You can purchase "bass blockers" to knock the bass to a mid-bass since the sub is picking up the lows. These are capacitors that go on the positive line of your speaker. Run a couple bucks from Cicus City, Breast Buy or any other audio shop.

2. Most of the upper-level radios now feature built in crossovers that you can set for your speaker outputs to knock the hard bass out. But then you're stepping into a $200+ head unit.
