Hi all,
I'm new here and hope to pursue some help for self maintaining my '94 Exp Ltd.
My stock CD receiver is dying. It is the JBL sound system. I'm told I have to change out the (8ohm) speakers with new (4ohm) speakers to use a new CD receiver (such as pioneer or panasonic). Does anyone know if this is true?
Also, I pulled out the receiver and say two really unique plugs. Do the "stores" have adapters/connectors to quick switch the player or do I need to search for something special (costly).
There is a power amp and large audiobahn woofer in the back left panal. I'm sure it is not stock (at least the speaker) since I had to do some refitting to get the side panel to fit over the speaker. I was told this would not have to be replaced.
I just want to buy a lower cost cd receiver w/ mp3 capability. The volume and sounds quality are fine as is. I haven't pulled any panels to see if the speakers are 8 or 4 ohm.
