It is a little intemidating at first but once you jump in it is real easy. EGT you can either drill and tap or use the clamp style probe. Boost is just putting a tee in your map sensor line and running the new line to the gauge. You can buy them wired up so all you have to do is install the probes and get power to the gauges.
I have the isspro gauges. When i bought mine most people seemed to think that they match the factory gauges good and i would agree. Haven't had any problems with them at all and they look great
How would you drill and tap for the Pyro senser? wouldn't that put metel flakes in the manafold? Didn't think that would be good to have metel flakes flying though a spinning turbo, but I don't know so thats why I'm here.
i dont believe a couple of shavings flowing through the hot side of your turbo will do much if anything. when i dirlled mine. seems that most the shavings fell on me.
im sure something went into the mani.
As far as flakes in the manifold are concerned, keep coating your drill bit with grease. The flakes will tend to attach themselves to the grease. That being said, after several progressively larger bits coated with grease, after I got to the desired diameter, I spent several minutes with my shop vac trying to get any remainders out of the manifold.
Drill with the engine running and use 10-20 drill bits. Start with the smallest and work your way up. Get a small magnet and stick it in the hole every little bit. This worked fine with me. Anything that did not get caught would blow through the turbo before the turbo started and wouldn't hurt anything.
Others here would say the only way to do it it to remove the turbo, then the manifold and do on the bench.
where do you run the wires if you have a manual and your clutch is occupying the hole that people with autos use?
Man, don't make me go out and check the firewall for a suitable grommet that you could piggyback for the install. Just have a look. I'll bet there's several spots. If not, simple drill bit and $1.00 grommet from AZ install. Don't make it hard fellas, and don't be intimidated by these trucks. They really aren't that bad to work on. Get in there. Git-er-done.
