I need an advice it seems light my headlight keep blowing out for some reason, everytime i put an new bulb in it just blows out a day or two. Nothing in the plugs are burnt and it happend to me three times. Already got one ticket but got that resolve the next day. I'm scared to go to the dealer they might say i need a whole front end.
Looks to me that you have a short somewhere in your electrical system. (maybe somewhere between the switch and the lights themselves). Check
the connections behind the headlamp where it plugs into the light then behind switch.
how are you handling the lamps it sounds like you are touching the glass on the blub when you are the lamps in your truck are quartz haligon and run very hot if you touch the glass the oil from your skin will cause hot spots on your bulb and it will over heat and burn out very quickly
my connections are good and all volts are correct had it check out. maybe it could of been me touching the bulb i put a new one in today and lets see that's work i use a tissue so i would not touch the bulb.
when you put a new bulb in you need to make sure, as mentioned, that your fingers do not touch any of the glass part on the bulb as this will lead to premature failure. I am not sure the tissue may have been enough to prevent this, I do not use rags either as I do not know where they have been... if it does go again and you opt to replace the bulb again be sure to handle it by the plastic base only.
Also, as mentioned above, it might be a good idea to check the voltage at the bulb when the truck is running and when off to see if it is somehow getting too much.
