whats wrong

Ok today i was pulling a slight incline and there was this chevy ridin my bumper so i decided to leave him, so i turned up the chip and when i stepped on it it pick up for a few seconds then it just died, it only died for like maybe 3 seconds and picked back up it happend so fast that before i could let off it it came back to life has anybody got any ideas this is not the first time that this has happend, maybe like 2 or 3 times so far all summer long.

CPS would be my first thought.

I would say cam sensor, the same thing happened to me

If the tach dropped suddenly like you shut off the engine sounds like a CPS or could just be a short in the connector or harness leg. If it started 2 -3 months ago you are very lucky check the wires quik if they look Ok get a CPS before you are walking.

I agree! Get a CPS installed and keep a spare one in the glovebox.

Also check the chip connections. Mine got dirty some how and acted like water in fuel deal. Took a while to figure out.

i had this happen to me too when my CPS was going out. going along accelerating moderately, BANG the whole truck jerked, and then once it sunk in that the truck quit, it was back in again. i saw two huge clouds of blue smoke too. it did this a few times, sometimes would throw a CEL and sometimes would not

Same thing when my CPS went 50 bucks on ebay and a 12 pack will get you going like new again
