Just ordered ae code reader. What test should i do to make sure the engine is running how it should be? Don't think there is a problem but want to make sure it's running perfect before adding any more power. Thanks
If AE doesn't pull any codes, then I'm sure there's nothing wrong with adding more power. You can do cylinder contribution test to see if you have a problem. Also you can drive and record live data for whatever sensors you want to monitor (boost, HPOP DC and pressure, etc.) It's a fun tool and I'm still learning.
amiller93...sounds like you know alot about ae. Is it hard to figure out at first? What is the keoe and koer tests for? What about the gem snd srs? I would like to run them all just to make sure that everthing is up to par. Thanks
When you first get it before you ever install it "read the manual" it will keep you from getting lost while learning it. KOEO = Key On Engine Off - check of sensor functions; KOER = Key On Engine Running = Check of engine operation. In addition to powertrain function when you first "Connect" to the vehicle you can choose what system to connect to. Default is Powertrain others in the list are Brakes (ABS), Airbag (SRS), ect different sensors in each module. Also sensors are Year and Vehicle specific so make sure the selection is correct. When you install it if the version is not 4.3.1 goto www.autoenginuity.com and download the latest version 4.2 had some issues with some of our sensors reading incorrectly.
thanks again. i will definately read the manual when i get it. i was just trying to learn as much as i can before i get and learn from experienced users. thanks
I wasn't giving you the "RTFM". But there are alot of acorns in the manual also once you get it it will be easyer to explain things since you will know some of the terminology. Matter of fact you can go ahead and download the manual from Jay's site and be ahead of the game
