I used a handle from a Honda Civic. The handle matched my charcoal headliner perfectly. Just used two sheetmetal screws to attach it above the door and I only installed it on the passenger side.
I would think on a truck door like the one on my 93 (XLT Crewcab) that you would have to pull off the plastic panel above the door and re-enforce it some how. To just screw the grab handle on it could pull out of the plastic and someone could fall on their butt,,, from my cab floor to the ground is somewhat high (4" lift)...I would like to know if anyone has re-enforced it and completed the job...
My 93 crewcab has some kind of channel down the sides of the inside of the roof, that the interior trim is screwed to using self-tapping interior screws. It's about 3/4" or so from the outside sheet metal I would guess. More in spots, less in others. So I used sellf-tapping sheet metal screws to mount the chrysler minivan pull handles to make it easier for people to get in and out.
Amazingly enough, the maroonish red color of the handles, matches my interior well enough you can't tell they weren't there to begin with.
Well if anyone knows frederic does...you and your Red ford...I remember the pctures of your neat bucket seat job..by the way is anything left from ford? seems liek all your fixes are from other brands..
Mikeyswood, if you search for "Truck Grab Handles" you'll get tons of hits, many from ebay and many truck custom shops
