Does the mass airflow sensor care how big or small the plumbing is that goes from the throttle body to the sensor itself??
The smaller the tubes the faster the air flows and the bigger the tubes the slower the air flows. Simple enough. But do the sensor and computor take issue to changes in the size of the tubes??
Velocity really doesn't matter, especially downstream of the sensor. The mass of air has already been sensed at that point. As long as the diameter of the sensor itself remains unchanged, there shouldn't be any problems.
Thats what I thought, but then I got to thinking about it and I began to wonder.
The kit came with a y-pipe to connect to the 2 tubes that come off of the throttle body that reduces the ID of the tubes by alot and I thought to myself that they must have done that for a reason. I can either adapt to the small ID (something that would be a pain to do) that they gave me or I can have a muffler shop make me another y-pipe that will mate to the existing pipes without a problem (<- I like this idea alot better).
